Seth Loves Sophie

Remember Sophie? You can also refresh your memory here.

I've tried introducing her a few times in the last week but it wasn't until yesterday that Seth really took notice.

"Well, hello there Sophie!"

"What's that you say?"

"Uh-oh. The lady with the camera again?"

"Hey there – get your own Sophie!"

"... and no pictures please!"

Nate is still unimpressed by Sophie (or maybe he was just tired). He let out a big yawn and promptly went back to sleep.

3 Weeks Old

(...on Monday.) The photos have been sitting on my computer since then, but I haven't had time to sort through them or sit down to write a post until tonight.

I never realized until I had two of my own how hard it is to take pictures of babies – all of these shots were taken on the fly without regard for lighting (or clean outfits apparently). Sometimes you just have to click while the getting is good and even at that, things can go south pretty fast. On the plus side, Nate has his eyes open in all of the pictures – because contrary to popular belief, he isn't *always* sleeping. ; )

See?

Awhhh! Seth was also having a fine time lounging in his Boppy:

An important lesson: never, ever attempt to take photos of your babies before they are fed. Regardless of how cute and willing they look at the moment, by the time you get the camera turned on it's game over.

The difference between surprised but curious Nate and heartbreakingly tragic Nate is less than 1 second. The second picture clearly says "would someone please tell the silly lady to stop taking my picture and feeeeeed meeeeee?".

Surprised, but curious:

Heartbreakingly tragic:

Our First Photoshoot: 2 Days Old

We're still waiting to receive hard copies of the photos we had taken at the hospital, but I managed to snag these off the photographer's site in the meantime. Nate was really not into the whole experience – if he wasn't sleeping he was crying. He cries real tears too so it was all rather pathetic. I think they got this shot between sobs:

Clearly he was a pretty tough customer. Seth, on the other hand, appears to love having his picture taken:

And this was the shot that made us want to throw lots and lots of money at the photographer:

Nate is asleep and Seth is having a fine time latching onto his big brother's shoulder. And check out all those toes:

TOES!!!

10 Days Old

The boys are 10 days old today and I'm too tired to post a proper entry, but I did manage to take a few photos.

At Long Last...

Introducing Nathanael "Nate" Oliver (left) and Seth William (right), born February 1st, 2010.

Nate (aka Baby A) arrived at 8:53 AM, weighing 5 lbs. 15 oz. and measuring 51 cm., followed by his brother Seth (aka Baby B) at 8:54 AM, weighing 6 lbs. 11 oz. and measuring 52 cm.

Sorry for the late (and brief!) post, but it's been a busy week to say the least. As we continue to get settled at home I will be updating with our birth story and other updates – for now I thought it high time to finally show off a pic of our baby boys. Enjoy! There will be many more to follow in the coming days.
